If you are getting connection errors when trying to use the Facebook Provider with Outlook, make sure that you have the latest update applied for it.
As of today (May 1st), this is a compulsory update when you want to continue to use the Facebook Provider with the Outlook Social Connector (People Pane).
The main change in this release is that it now supports secure HTTPS connections.
This update has already been released on January 17, so if you’ve recently used Window Update or have it set to update automatically (including Office Updates), you’re most likely already up-to-date and won’t have to do anything.
