A Security Update has been released for Outlook 2016. In addition to resolving the vulnerability, it also contains 3 documented improvements and fixes.
- Resolves the vulnerabilities mentioned in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS16-029 which could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Office file.
- Updates startup information for all international languages to better align with Cortana.
- Outlook 2016 takers longer than Outlook 2013 takes to configure some email accounts.
- When you scroll through some items in a message list, Window-Eyes stops the screen reader from working for Outlook 2016.
Note:
When you are using Outlook 2016 as part of an Office 365 subscription, this update also solves the POP3 email duplicates issue that was introduced with the February update.
