A Security Update has been released for Outlook 2016. In addition to resolving the vulnerability, it also contains 12 documented improvements and fixes.
Most notable fixes are;
- Resolves the vulnerabilities mentioned in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS16-099 which could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Office file.
- When you mark a task as completed, you receive the following error message:
We need to know who to send this to. Make sure you enter at least one name. - When you send digitally signed email messages in a 64-bit version of Outlook 2016, you receive the following error message:
A required action was not successful because of an unspecified error. - After you enable the “I am currently giving a presentation” option in the Presentation Settings dialog box, Outlook will not be able to authenticate and will enter a “Need Password” state.
