A recent change in the PayPal notification messages can cause Outlook to hang for a couple of minutes. The issue is caused by an invalid picture reference in the message and the way Outlook deals with time-outs.

Note that the location is pointing to a network share.

Pst-files, unless you are using an Exchange or Hotmail account, Outlook cannot live without them. All your data is stored in the pst-file and properly handling it is crucial to Outlook’s functioning.

There are many common questions about pst-files ranging from where it is located, how to move it and regaining access to pst-files to previously created pst-files.

Update Rollup 5 for Exchange 2007 Service Pack 3 is now available for direct download (see below for links). Expect it to become available via Microsoft Update on October 25.

It includes 13 new fixes. The Exchange Team would like to highlight the following ones (some KB articles might not yet be available in your region);

• DST: New updates for August DST – Exchange 2007.
• KB2536695 “Some items cannot be deleted” error message when you try to delete or modify an email message in a public folder in an Exchange Server 2007 environment.
• KB2292150 A deleted hyperlink remains in the HTML source of an email message if you create the email message by using OWA in an Exchange Server 2007 environment.

The next update rollup is scheduled for release in April 2012.

The following updates have been released for Outlook 2010;

 
Update KB2583928 for Outlook 2010
This update fixes 3 issues;

• Outlook stops responding when you click “Cancel” on the credentials dialog.
• Improves the logging feature.
• Reminders are not being displayed for Exchange accounts configured in online mode.

Update KB2583935 for Outlook 2010 Social Connector
This update fixes 2 issues with the Outlook Social Connector showing the x500 address as the sender’s display name in an Microsoft Office 365 environment.
