Outlook 2016 Update for November 2017

News

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2016. This is a non-security update which contains 11 documented improvements and fixes.

Most notable fixes are:

  • When you open an exception of recurring appointment series in Outlook online mode, the exception appointment displays incorrectly.
  • If you connect by using the IMAP protocol, you may see the message reappears in the Draft folder occasionally after you send an email.
  • Outlook 2016 freezes when you try to send an encrypted message that contains large attachments.
  • MSI-based installations now also have an option to control default attachment state when you try to attach a cloud file.

Outlook 2013 Update for November 2017

News

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2013. This is a non-security update which contains 4 documented improvements and fixes.

  • Improves the translation of “Private Appointment” in the Swedish version of Outlook.
  • The “Apps for Office” button will no longer be visible on the compose form if there are no legacy compose add-ins enabled.
  • When you export a calendar to a CSV file, some exceptions of recurring appointments series are missing in the CSV file.
  • The tab key and space bar don’t work after you switch from a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) form to the Reading Pane and back to the form.

Outlook 2016 Security Update for October 2017

News

A Security Update has been released for Outlook 2016. In addition to resolving the vulnerabilities, it also contains 11 documented improvements and fixes.

Most notable fixes and improvements are:

  • Resolves the vulnerabilities mentioned in CVE-2017-11774, which could lead to the execution of arbitrary commands, and CVE-2017-11776 which could lead to information disclosure.
  • You occasionally experience an error when you try to access the address book.
  • After you send an email message in Outlook 2016 that has an IMAP account configured, the message appears in the Drafts folder again.
  • When you use Outlook.com to send email messages to users who are outside the service, those messages show the winmail.dat files as attachments for those recipients.
