Downloading Outlook 2013 from Office 365 after March 1, 2017
Support for the Office 2013 versions of Office 365 has ended and are no longer being offered for download in the download sections of Office 365 Home and Office 365 for Business.
If you still have it installed, you will receive Security Updates until April 10, 2023.
Upgrading to Office 2016 is highly recommended and also already part of your Office 365 subscription. However, common reasons why you might still need Office/Outlook 2013 are;
- You are connecting to Exchange 2007.
- Your company hasn’t properly published Autodiscover in their Exchange 2010, 2013 or 2016 environment so you must resort to a manual configuration which isn’t supported in Outlook 2016.
- You are using Business Contact Manager 2013 and are not yet ready to use Outlook Customer Manager or migrate to another CRM solution.
- You have a dependency on some other software that isn’t yet compatible with Office 2016.
When you still need to (re-)install Office 2013 as part of Office 365 for whatever reason, you can still download it by using a direct link or by using the Office 2013 Deployment Tool.

Outlook 2016 Update for February 2017
A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2016. This is a non-security update which contains 17 documented improvements and fixes.
Most notable fixes are:
- Assume that Outlook 2016 is subscribed to an Internet calendar that requires your credential. Then, you select the “Remember my credentials” option in the credential prompt. In this situation, if the password expires, you can’t authenticate to the Internet calendar, and you’re not prompted to enter the new password.
- Assume that you use an extended MAPI application (Enterprise Vault) to keep a local copy of items (Vault Cache), and the Vault Cache reaches certain size (4 GB). In this situation, the “0x80040119” error code is displayed and the call of the IMAPIProp::SaveChanges method fails. This causes the PST corruption.
- When you send a meeting request or cancellation that has an HTML body and HTML images, the recipient does not see the images as expected.
- You can’t load other users’ calendars in Outlook 2016. The load status remains Retrieving and the CPU usage stays at 100%.
Office 365 subscribers have also received a feature update; Add-ins can now create a Pinnable Taskpane.

Outlook 2013 Update for February 2017
A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2013. This is a non-security update which contains 11 documented improvements and fixes.
Most notable fixes are:
- You cannot open some iCal events that are created by an Apple device (for example, iPhone) in Outlook 2013 even if they are supported in Outlook 2013.
- When certain attachments are deleted by code (for example, an add-in or a third-party application) from a rich text format (RTF) email message in Outlook 2013, inline images of a signature are misplaced and displayed in unexpected positions.
- After a delegate leaves the company, you can’t update the delegates information in Outlook 2013. Meanwhile, you receive the following error message:
The Delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate free/busy information.

Outlook.com dropping EAS support for Outlook
As Microsoft is completing the migration of the Outlook.com mailboxes to the Office 365 platform, they have begun turning off Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) support for Outlook.
This will only affect you when you are using Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016 and haven’t configured your Outlook.com account as an Exchange account yet.
To check this, go to;
File-> Account Settings-> Account Settings
When it says Microsoft Exchange behind your account, you don’t have to take any action. When it says Exchange ActiveSync, you’ll have to re-add your account via Auto Account Setup by supplying your name, email address and password (or App Password). So don’t choose the Manual Setup!
