Outlook 2013 Updates for May 2015

A Rollup Update and an update for the Social Connector and Facebook Provider have been released for Outlook 2013, containing a total of 19 documented improvements and fixes.


Update KB3039799 for Outlook 2013
This is a non-security update which contains 18 improvements and fixes. Some changes also require update KB3039700 for Office 2013 to be installed.

Most notable new changes and fixes are:

  • Adds the Store button to the Home tab ribbon in Outlook 2013 (when supported and enabled via the Registry).
  • When you perform a tag action (such as marking an item as read or unread) for an item in search results in a shared mailbox in Outlook 2013, the item disappears.
  • You cannot open a shared mailbox in a profile in Outlook 2013. This issue occurs after you migrate the profile from Exchange Server 2010 to Exchange Server 2013 that has the MAPI over HTTP transport protocol enabled.

Outlook 2010 Update for May 2015

News

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2010. This is a non-security update which contains 3 improvements and fixes.

  • When you respond to a meeting request by using the Edit Response Before Sending option, the font is set to the system font unexpectedly.
  • If you use Outlook Security Group Policy to configure a VSTO add-in as trusted, it does not prevent security prompts when the add-in accesses the object model.
  • The last changed date of an Rights Management Services (RMS)-protected Office  document is displayed incorrectly in the preview pane.

Update KB2965270 for Outlook 2013
This is a non-security update which contains 13 improvements and fixes.

Most notable new changes and fixes are:

  • Improves of translations of Skype for Business, the POP/IMAP account setup wizard and various error messages.
  • When you search some items in Outlook 2013, the performance responses slowly.
  • Public folders, online archived mailboxes, or shared mailboxes may disappear from the folder list in Outlook 2013.
  • Fixes an issue for EAS accounts in which email messages that are moved, deleted, or flagged as junk are duplicated.

Outlook 2010 Update for April 2015

News

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2010. This is a non-security update which contains 5 improvements and fixes.

Most notable new changes and fixes are:

  • When an application other than Outlook loads MAPI, the application may crash. This issue occurs if the mailbox connection uses the MAPI over HTTP transport protocol.
  • Public folders, online archived mailboxes, or shared mailboxes may disappear from the folder list in Outlook 2010.
  • When you search an item in a shared online contacts folder in Outlook 2010, you receive the following error message:
    ”The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found.”

Update: Outlook 2010 could crash after installing the latest round of updates. This is actually caused by update KB2825678 for Outlook 2013 which could get installed when you also have Office 2013 applications installed.
