Visio Stencils for Microsoft Office and Office 365

Visio buttonIf you are using Visio and are drawing architecture diagrams, charts or posters about your Office client and server infrastructure, then these Visio Stencils are a must have.

These stencils contain over 300 icons which are relevant to Microsoft Office and Office 365 indicating servers, server roles, services and applications. The icon style matches with the 2013 releases of Office, Exchange, SharePoint and Lync.

Newer icons

A stencil with icons based on the 2019 icons was also made available by Giles Hamson on the Microsoft TechNet Gallery. However, the Microsoft TechNet Gallery is no longer available. An archived copy of his work can be downloaded from our servers below.

Fluent UI: Office Brand Icons

Another way to get (some) newer icons is via the Fluent UI website.

You can use the svg or png versions of the icons to build your own stencils in Visio.

FastTrack Portal

When you have access to the Microsoft FastTrack portal, then you can also download the BrandingKit which contains all Microsoft Office App icons.

  1. Logon to the Microsoft FastTrack Portal.
  2. At the top, select: Resources.
  3. In the Filters section on the left, select “Downloads” as the Resource Type.
  4. Download the BrandingToolkit.

Outlook 2010 Update for January 2015

News

A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2010. This is a non-security update and adds support for MAPI over HTTP to Outlook 2010. This is also the first Outlook Rollup Update since May 2014 and replaces the retracted December Hotfix KB2899591.

Aside from MAPI over HTTP support, it also contains 5 additional fixes and 24 fixes from the following previously released Hotfixes which are only available by request:

Most notable new fixes are:

  • You cannot synchronize an Office 365 account in Outlook 2010. Additionally, you receive an “80040600” error in the sync logs.
  • Assume that you have a calendar in a public folder. Then, you search items in the calendar in Outlook 2010. When the search result is returned, Outlook may crash if you try to open the calendar by clicking it on the Navigation pane.

Outlook 2013 Update for December 2014

An Office update has been released which also affects Outlook 2013. This is a non-security update which contains 12 improvements and fixes.

The fixes that involve Outlook are:

  • Outlook may crash when you have an iCloud Internet Calendar added to your Outlook profile. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:
    ”Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened.”
  • When you try to connect to your mailbox by using the MAPI over HTTP protocol through an authenticated proxy, you may be prompted to enter your credentials.

Office 365 subscribers can install this update manually via the Update Now button or wait for the automatic update. This update is included in version: 15.0.4675.1002.


Outlook 2010 Update for December 2014

An Office update has been released which also affects Outlook 2010. This is a non-security update which contains 2 fixes.

  • The spell checker may skip a sentence which contains a word that is composed by more than one language script.
  • Outlook may crash when you have an iCloud Internet Calendar added to your Outlook profile. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:
    ”Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened.”

Exchange 2013 CU7

News

Cumulative Update 7 for Exchange 2013 is now available for direct download.

This Rollup Update contains a security update, 32 additional fixes, updates for recent daylight saving time (DST) updates and all previously released fixes and security updates for Exchange 2013.

The main focus of this release is on the following scenarios:

  • KB3011140 December 2014 security update for Exchange Server 2013 Service Pack 1 and Cumulative Update 6.
  • Support for Public Folder Hierarchies in Exchange Server 2013 which contain 250,000 public folders. If you are still hosting your PF database on Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2007, also read this post.
  • Improved support for OAB distribution in large Exchange Server 2013 environments.

Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 8

Update Rollup 8 for Exchange 2010 Service Pack 3 is now available for direct download.

Update:
Because of issues with Outlook connectivity, this update has been updated with a v2 release. If you still have the v1 release installed, you can install the v2 release without removing the v1 release first just like a normal update.
The reported version number after applying this update is: 14.03.0224.002.

This Rollup Update contains a security update, 14 additional fixes, updates for recent daylight saving time (DST) updates and all previously released fixes and security updates for Exchange 2010 SP3.

Notable fixes are:

  • KB3015738 December 2014 security update for Exchange Server 2007 and Exchange Server 2010.
  • KB2995148 Changing distribution group takes a long time in an Exchange Server 2010 environment.
  • KB2987104 Email message is sent by using the “Send As” instead of “Send on Behalf” permission in Exchange Server 2010.
