Updated: Sorting Outgoing E-mails
You most likely sort your incoming emails into different folders by using message rules but what are you doing with your outgoing emails?
By using rules, you can also sort your outgoing emails into folder but strangely enough, this results in a copy instead of an actual move.
This guide shows you how you can configure Outlook and your rules to sort your outgoing emails without ending up with duplicates.

Outlook 2013 Hotfixes for October 2014
2 Hotfixes have been released which apply to Outlook 2013, fixing a total of 19 issues which haven’t been included in the most current Rollup Update.
Hotfix KB2889951 for Outlook 2013
This hotfix contains 16 fixes for specific issues. Most notable fixes are;
- Outlook 2013 may crash randomly when you search items in Outlook Address Book. This issue occurs more frequently after a laptop resumes from hibernate.
- Outlook items are indexed too frequently.
- Outlook 2013 may try to download the OAB.xml from an external URL instead of from an internal URL. Additionally, Outlook may prompt you for your password.
- Increases the maximum amount of configured Exchange accounts within a single mail profile support limit to 370000 (requires a Registry modification as well).

KB2889953 for Office 2013
This Office hotfix contains 3 fixes which apply to specific Outlook issues;
- After applying this update, the “Recover Deleted Items” button is shown on the Home tab when you select the Deleted Items folder. This change is also included in Hotfix KB2889951 for Outlook 2013 and a combination of the latest Outlook update KB2986204 and Office update KB2889927 (undocumented).
- Outlook will now show the URL path of the server when it tries to download a linked image and the “Contacting the server for information” dialog box comes up
- When additional logging modes are active, Outlook 2013 write data to the hard disk too frequently.

Outlook 2010 Hotfixes for October 2014
4 Hotfixes have been released which apply to Outlook 2010, fixing a total of 5 issues which haven’t been included in the most current Rollup Update.
Hotfix KB2889900 for Outlook 2010
This hotfix contains 3 fixes for the following specific issues;
- Developers cannot change or add an attachment to an Rich Text Format (RTF) message during the BeforeAttachmentAdd event.
- Changes to an HTML formatted oft-file are not being saved when using an Exchange account in online mode.
- A text attachment is not being displayed when opening an eml-file when using an Exchange account in online mode.

Hotfix KB2899487 for Word 2010 and Hotfix KB2899481 for Office 2010
Interestingly enough, both hotfixes solve the same issue. The issue is that you can add (Word) comments to a meeting request and Outlook may crash when you send the meeting request.

Hotfix KB2899484 for Office 2010
After applying this hotfix, Outlook will show the URL path of the server when it tries to download a linked image and the “Contacting the server for information” dialog box comes up.

Outlook 2013 Update for October 2014
A Rollup Update has been released for Outlook 2013. This is a non-security update which contains the latest stability and performance improvements.
Even though only 2 improvements and fixes are mentioned in the change log provided, it does also contain the 8 fixes from Hotfix KB2883074 and 6 fixes from Hotfix KB2889873.
The new fixes are:
- Outlook 2013 may be unable to connect to an Exchange server by using the MAPI over HTTP protocol.
- When you send an email message that contains a large attachment by using Outlook 2013, Outlook may stop responding.

Note: This update is also offered via Microsoft Update or already installed automatically for you when Microsoft Update is configured to also update other Microsoft applications.
Office 365 subscribers can install this update manually via the Update Now button or wait for the automatic update. This update is included in version: 15.0.4659.1001.
